Women’s Health and Floorball

Canada has some interesting initiatives for Women these days through CAAWS - CAAWS is a national non-profit organization dedicated to creating an equitable sport and physical activity system in which girls and women are actively engaged as participants and leaders.

Locally we have ProMOTION Plus is the British Columbia organization for girls and women in physical activity and sport. It was established as a non-profit society in 1990 and was unique in Canada at the time. ProMOTION Plus is still only one of the three provincial organizations in Canada dedicated to increasing opportunities for girls and women in the sport and recreation delivery system.

Well, an interesting story has just been released in Denmark.  COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Feb. 23 (UPI) – Team sports can help make up for the estrogen loss of women in menopause to help heart health, University of Copenhagen researchers say.
