Dear Floorball Friends,
BCFF is very excited to host the 2009 CANADIAN NATIONAL FLOORBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS in Vancouver, April 17-19th, 2009. It is our turn to invite our floorball community from across the country to come enjoy the spectacular scenery of Vancouver, play some top level competitive floorball and have a chance to sit, chat and laugh about it at the end of the day.
Our goal is to host a WOMEN’S Nationals in addition to the Men’s. There are a lot of great women players across the country who deserve the chance to compete for the honours of National Champions.
We truly understand traveling across the country to play floorball is a large financial commitment. Thus, we feel it is paramount to give you the best experience and value we can as a thank you for supporting the event. We think we have created an event that cannot be missed and we hope you agree.
Our stage is the brand new OLYMPIC OVALhttp://richmondoval.ca/. It is easily the best indoor sports facility in Vancouver and perhaps across Canada. The Oval is a stunning piece of architecture, a monument, a future piece of Canadian sports history. It includes inspiring West Coast Design using massive supports of BC beetle pine, concrete and huge glass windows that offer spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains. All matches will take place in the Oval inner circle on brand new hardwood floors. There is a thoughtful, generous amount of space for players to warm up, cool down and seating for as many as we can possibly encourage to come out.
Accommodations have been arranged, a short 8 minute walk from the Oval, at the HILTON Vancouver Airport. There is comfort at every corner. Spacious suites, many with balconies and mountain views, that can accommodate up to 4 guests for the very generous price of only $119 a night. All rooms include Hilton famous serenity down duvet
covers and 250 thread count sheets that will ensure you are rested forplay. It has all the amenites you would expect, including a jacuzzi, exercise room, tennis court, bar, restaurant, free pass to near by Fitness World, internet and an outdoor pool, if the weather is nice.
Within a 10 minute walk, The HILTON is surrounded by numerous restaurants for all budgets including Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Boston Pizza, White Spot, Tim Hortons, Grocery Store, Liquor Store, Starbucks, Sports Bars…. There is something for everyone and the great things is, there is no need to take a taxi or rent a car!

As much as the Nationals is about competition, we also put together events that gives players a chance to hang out together in a more relaxed environment.
We hope to have local, young, trendy restaurant hot spots like The Cactus Club or Earls as our Nationals host bar/restaurant.
In addition to all this, it is looking very possible that The Men’s National Team from India will be playing a series of friendly matches over this period. It would be a sincere honour for Canada to host Team India and extend our floorball relations to the other side of the world. We would love to see a full turn out of both Canadian Men’s
and Women’s teams, showcasing Canadian talent and sportsmanship to our International visitors.
Please note that the Nationals has been structured that players only need to take one day off of work to attend. Last Nationals game ends at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, allowing you to get home and climb into your own bed on Sunday evening if required. We would love to see you stay
longer, but we respect how difficult and precious days off are.
With Vancouver, the Olympic Oval, & The Hilton as our backdrop, I am sure you all agree this has potential to be the best floorball event that anyone has attended to date.
