Team Finland won the Floorball World Championship in Prague on Sunday, with a dramatic 7-6 victory over reigning champions Sweden.
The Finnish team went into the final period of play with a 4-3 lead. But, Sweden quickly caught up and pulled two goals ahead of the Finns.
Before the final buzzer, Finland’s Lassi Vänttinen put two more into the net to tie of the game and force overtime play.
Five minutes into overtime, Tero Tiitu scored the winning goal, bringing the Finns the World Championship.
It is Finland’s first World Championship in the popular sport of floorball. Up to Sunday, Sweden had played for and won the crown six times, every final since the Floorball World Championships were instituted.
