BC FLOORBALL Vice-President Shea Esselmont joined President Greg Beaudin at Southridge School this past Friday in comprehensive PE Teacher demonstrations with leading BC indepedent schools:

• Mulgrave
• Southridge
• Glenlyon
• Meadowridge
• York House
• Stratford Hall
• St. Margarets

The presentation was a success, leading to the creation of some new Floorball Clubs  in BC.
It will be a pleasure to watch these school programs flourish and we should see the quality of our young BC Floorballers rise with input and dedication of these interested schools.

First Game of the night saw Team Xtreme beat Team Precision for the 4th straight week. Goalscorers were Malin(2) Freddie(2) Martin(1) and newcomer Sean Dickenson(1). For Team Precision, Yves, Sarah, and Markus tallied one apiece.

In the Second game of the night, it was quite the battle. Martin Palm’s amazing hat-trick was overshadowed by a blistering top corner backhand by Dominik Hunziker in the dying seconds of the game.  Dominik’s goal broke a 4 to 4 deadlock and that gave Team Salming their first win of the season.

Sean Dickenson scored a goal and added an assist, giving him 2 goals and 2 assists on his first night of Floorball, well done!

CBC filmed a Floorball special today at the Windsor Hockey Academy.  Look for it to air on Sunday Night at 11pm.

The Premise was to feature Floorball as an evolution of indoor floorhockey and to see, live, how the game plays out with a group of Hockey Canada Skills Academy students. Thanks to CBC Reporter Bob Nixon, for his interest in Floorball.

Blair Zimmerman, Frederik Melen and Greg Beaudin were able to demonstrate the positives of Floorball and were interviewed alongside the Hockey Academy Players. 

Everyone enjoyed the Floorball Demo immensely and this should help the BC Floorball Federation increase their membership and activate a new Hockey Academy centric Floorball division. 

Thanks to all who came out and took part in the Demo and please make sure to tune in and spread the good word on Floorball.

Scott "iron Drapes" Douglas extended his unbeaten streak as both squads that he backstops, Team Blast and Team Xtreme won their games last night.

Team Blast came out very strong but lost their commanding lead in the second period, as Blair Zimmerman was able to get his Team Salming sparked enough to tie the game 7-7 with 1 minute to play.  Endre Koszec scored the winner and was able to secure a late victory on a nice feed by Fredrik Melen.

Game 2 of the night, saw Team Xtreme take it to the shorthanded Team Precision. Swiss Goaltender Reto Brugger was the star of the game for Team Precision with newcomer Matt Kleymann a close second, showing off some solid hockey skills.
