Down Under Open and International Floorball Event

    Friday, April 20th, 2007

Congratulations to the Floorball Association Western Australian. According to the IFF report they had a ripping tournament down there in Perth, W.A. Teams from Singapore and Switzerland added to the occasion. Perth and Vancouver are often compared and it’s great to hear they had such a good tournament as we ramp up the 1st Annual BCFF Floorball Challenge our first one in May. Once they introduce free international teleports maybe we can compete together!

Hamilton Danglers gain good media coverage

    Thursday, April 12th, 2007

The Sherwood Danglers featured in the Hamilton Press when they returned home after defeating the Vancouver WaveRiders at the Canada Cup (Intermediate Final). It’s great to see Floorball and the Danglers getting coverage in traditional media. Greg Beaudin, the WaveRiders captain commented on his return from the competition:

"Hamilton had a full bench, talented players, and youth on their side.
The WaveRiders came out strong, but the Hamilton goaltender was their
player of the game. Overall, it was a fantastic game that we really
enjoyed.  Hamilton is a team to be reckoned with for years to come.  It
will inspire us to build some great school teams of our own, out here
on the West Coast. Our Congratulations go out to the whole Hamilton
    team for a great tournament."

The BC Floorball Federation also extends its Congratulations to the Sherwood, Hamilton team. Well Done, you demonstrate the sport has a fantastic future!

    Email Notifications - apology

    Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Rather than clutter up your email with yet another message I thought I would post the apology here.

As you may know we use Eventbrite to manage events, drop-ins and tournaments. Yesterday I set up tonight’s drop-in at Mulgrave School as per normal. However, there the email notifications that normally go out did not work.

I advised Eventbrite of this and they explained that yesterday afternoon they had a problem with their email notification system. This has now been fixed, but in the process all my attempts to get it to work have now been processed automatically. Eventbrite have also apologised.

So if you have received multiple emails regarding tonights drop-in session I apologise. Normally you will get one email about the event and one reminder. If you would like to be added/removed feel free to use the contact BCFF link on the right of this page. Of course if you would like to register for tonight (registration is free - just pay in the gym) then click the link in the post at the top of this page.

Once again, apologies for the email confusion, hope to see you there tonight!
