BC’s Vancouver WaveRiders will field a strong side including four of the five players selected for the Team Canada games against the Team USA. WaveRiders Captain Greg Beaudin explained the story behind the Waveriders logo and shirt …

On the West Coast of Canada, Orcas play in the waves; swiftly, gracefully, artfully… they also move with power and purpose. These WaveRiders represent the raw beauty and pure athleticism of the West Coast inhabitants.

The Vancouver WaveRiders Floorball Club is a Team that moves as the Orcas do.  Our style of play mimics the whale, riding the waves of Floorball fun. Connected, we travel up and down the court with energy and flow.  The WaveRiders play as one, yet our players are free to explore individual creativity, enjoying movement and synergy.

The Logo of the Vancouver WaveRiders pays homage to the Orca, a West Coast icon.  In a formation of three, inspired by Team spirit, surrounding a Floorball holding sticks-the Whales show movement, protection and flow.  In the artistic style of the first nations, the WaveRiders logo creates a distinct look and feel that represents the geography of Vancouver.

Strength, Power, Creativity and Flow is how the WaveRiders play the game.

Greg would like to credit Kevin Coughlin, the artist responsible for the logo design and Brett at Gaia for the sweet uniform hookup. Great work Kevin!
