This is the first in a series of short articles introducing Floorball gear ..

Let’s start with the ball, the floorball ball.

The ball is made of plastic, is 72 mm in diameter, has a maximum weight of 23 grams, and has 26 holes in it. The ball can move VERY quickly and generally speaking doesn’t hurt if it hits you.

… Next: Floorball sticks …

a common misconception is that the Floorball is a wiffle ball. The wiffle balls that I am familiar with are lighter and flightier than a Floorball, allowing for more curve. The Floorball is more dense than a wiffle ball and the precision of ball flight is more true than a wiffle ball allowing for a better pace of shot…The Floorball is still vety light compared to a puck, tennis ball or orange ball and takes a bit to get used to control-wise.
